There are some options to rent electric scooters from the side of the road at various places in the Klang Valley. There is also the option to buy your own. What is the experience with the Xiaomi Scooter for first mile and last mile travel?
The scooter can be folded, but still weighs 12 kg. Because of its size, you probably don't want to bring in onto a public bus. The scooter has been used for travel by train
Train stations have elevators. Otherwise, the escalators can be used. If not folded and carried, one wheel can be pushed against the escalator step to stop the scooter from moving
Going up

Going down

When stairs must be used, you probably want to carry it with two hands, at the base and at the handle

To fold, be sure to pull back on the lever before folding the lever down. The lever will not go down and the scooter will not fold otherwise

To lock, an option is to use a chain lock and run this through the back wheel, and around something immovable

Conclusion
4.0 out of 5.0. Scooters are used in Kuala Lumpur although bicycle/scooter lanes are limited, and this is something that can be taken advantage of (compared to Singapore). There are ones for rent by the public but are not always available when or where you want (busy used for fun rides at night, not commuting) and the per-minute charges add up. Still they can be quite dangerous if not used properly, and need to always be ridden with care and without speeding (same as with bicycles and motorcycles). The video is with the scooter being ridden on wet road, at night and next to moving cars (video speed x 2), which could be the highest risk conditions - do not attempt at high speed
